As we approach Spring 2010 the steep falls in freehold values in prime central London between September 2007 and March 2009 have been replaced by rises over the last year due to the lack of supply of good quality stock, low interest rates and the weakness of sterling. As all these three factors are unlikely to change significantly over the next 12 months, lessees should consider serving their s42 notices sooner rather than later in order to prevent their premium from increasing further.
